Best song of the 2000s?Posted 14 January 2011 by Nick
I know we are already well into 2011 and this debate is probably old to many. I am hardly trying to be Pitchfork on this site. However I feel comfortable in the grandiose statement that the Arcade Fire is the most dynamic band of the previous decade. While they have only put out three records, each has different and built upon the previous record, without necessarily being better than it’s predecessor.
This performance in particular, which was the closing song of either the 2004 or 2005 Coachella Music Festival is especially powerful. I have been fortunate to get to spend some time in the Coachella Valley (unfortunately I have never attended the festival) in Southern California. It is an incredibly beautiful area. The way in which this video uses the natural landscape is nothing short of breathtaking.
